(“School horses” differ from “lesson horses” whose job is to be kind and safe. School horses are my own personal horses that can give you the experience of timing, balance, and feel. From improving your own riding to exploring more advanced ideas, an experienced horse can give you a “leg up” on learning.)
Training
You can send your horse into training at Willow Grove for various studies. Starting under saddle or carriage driving, bit and bitting rehabilitation, emotional troubles or trauma, and further specific education to purpose. There is a waiting list for this offering so please be patient with the timing of your training request.
Internships
Up to three interns are taken at any given time to work at Willow Grove. The support they give is crucial to the function of the farm. In turn, their education is designed around the current equine residents and students studying at Willow Grove. Potential interns should plan on one-year minimum stay to experience as many situations as possible. We have enjoyed interns of varying ages and stages and have enjoyed their growth and all they offered! There is often a waiting list so please be patient with the timing of this opportunity.
